Initially Me

Ladies, are you looking for that perfect gift for the Groom, Father of the Bride or Groomsmen? Well look no further!Eternally Linked has recently created a line of unconventional, customized initial cufflinks. Instead of the usual monogram sets, they offer a more modern take on the classic accessory. What makes these cufflinks different from the rest is the option of color and initial placement. Every pair is handmade in New York City by a talented lady named Tiffanie who has been making jewelry ever since she took a metalsmithing class a few years ago right here in the South. Her “Initially Me” cufflinks have become very popular and have even been seen in New York Magazine!

Another great thing about “Initially Me” cufflinks is the price! Compared to other monogrammed cufflinks that cost more, these are not going to break the bank and the quality of work is outstanding!

The process of making these unique cufflinks is quite interesting as well! First, the cufflink base is covered with colored epoxy resin of your choice. After the initial resin dries, another resin treatment is started and the sterling silver initials are set in clear epoxy resin. The sterling silver letters are solid and appear to floating. The cufflinks measure 15mm round and the base of the cufflink itself is an alloy base metal.

Another great thing about these cufflinks is the number of options that are available when it comes to color! There’s not just 2 colors, 5 colors, or 10 colors to choose from . . . . there are 25 colors!!! And if you do not see a color you are looking for, they can work with you on that! When you visit Eternally Linked’s Etsy shop, you will see the color chart and choose your colors from there. Here are just some of the many colors that are available:

Blue: Sapphire, Denim, Navy, Turquoise
Red: Ruby, Red, Coral
Orange: Orange
Yellow: Yellow, Gold Topaz
Silver: Pewter
Green: Green, Emerald
Black: Jet

Initial placement is also another part of what makes these cufflinks so unique. Customers have the choice of choosing whether they want them side by side or diagonal. More examples of this can be seen here.

These cufflinks would make the perfect wedding gift, Father of the Bride gift, and Groomsman gift. Also, with the holidays right around the corner, these customized cufflinks would make for a great, memorable stocking stuffer! Oh and did I forget to mention that shipping is usually less then $5? Well it is, how awesome is that!?!

If you are thinking this would make a great Christmas gift, visit Eternally Linked today for more information on Holiday orders. You can also visit them on Facebook!

Bold & Beautiful Bride

A bride’s gown is just about the most important part of her wedding day ensemble, but what wedding gown would be complete without jewelry, right? Pearls, drop earrings, delicate bracelets and dainty pieces are some of the most popular choices for brides. Timeless and classic is often what a bride is thinking when she picks her jewelry for her wedding day.

It has been a long tradition for the bride to keep her jewelry simple and feminine . None of these choices are wrong, they are beautiful and all up to the bride as to what she feels like wearing. On the other hand, a bride should not be afraid to be BOLD and step outside the box. Some of the most interesting Bridal fashions out there includes not only the gowns, but the jewelry and accessories that the gown is paired with.

Long, layered necklaces has been something we have seen more and more brides embrace. It takes the right dress to be able to pull off a bold piece of jewelry whether it be earrings, a necklace or several, chunky bracelets. If you are contemplating a bold piece, try it on with your dress before you decide to play it safe with a strand of pearls. You never know until you try and things always look different once they are on.

If you typically where bold pieces with your everyday look, then don’t be afraid to do the same on your wedding day. Same goes for someone who is a bit more simple with their day to day look, if that is your style then stick with it, even on your wedding day.

Whether a bride steps outside the box or sticks with the traditional pieces, it is important that she feels comfortable in what she is wearing! Feel good and confident in your wedding day ensemble and most of all, be you!!

Pretty Parasols

While Parasols have been used for hundreds of years, they have now become such a hot trend in weddings and are that must have accessory. They are fun, functional and fashionable and also make such a great prop when it comes to photos. They are great for that modern bride and can also ad a bit of a vintage feel while adding a fashionable touch to a brides gown and her wedding party.

They come in all colors and styles these days it’s not hard for a bride to find them to match her color scheme for her wedding. They are used mostly in the spring and summer and on those hot days they provide the bride and her bridesmaids with a little shade which really helps when photos are taken outdoors.

Local photographer, Christen Jones of Christen Jones Photography, has photographed many weddings and has some fabulous shots of brides and their wedding party with pretty parasols! As you can see, they make for the perfect accessory and really ads a special touch to photos.

Parasols can also be used to decorate with. They can be hanging from the ceiling at the reception, propped up on tables, lined up down the isle (this is great for an outdoor or beach wedding,) and mixed hanging with paper lanterns. Another idea is instead of having your bridesmaids carry flowers, they could each carry a parasol. If you have an outdoor, beach or garden wedding and worry about your guests getting too hot, you can have parasols for them to use to block the sun. This would help them stay cool and also make the view as you walk down the isle elegant. Not only can parasols be used to keep your guests more comfortable, but they can also be your wedding favors by letting your guests keep a parasol after the ceremony. Some brides have even personalized them by writing messages, the wedding date, the initials of the bride and groom, or simply “Thank you” on each one. While you may pay a bit more to have enough parasols to keep your guests out of the sun, think of the money you will save by also using them as your favors!

If you are planning your wedding and want a great way to accesorize and add that special touch on your wedding day with out breaking the bank, think parasols! You can purchase them in a number of different colors and personalize them with monograms, beads, flowers, and ribbon! The ideas when using parasols for your wedding are really endless. There are so many things you can do with them if you really want to get creative. Think outside the box. Think Parasols!

wedding Fashion collections

Almost half of the more than two million weddings a year involve brides or grooms who’ve been married before. So what kind of a bridal gown do you wear if you’re walking down the aisle — again? Lois Joy Johnson of More magazine has a few options for older “encore” brides to consider.

Whether they’re getting married for the first, second or third time, grown-up brides 40 and over are ditching the fluffy white gown and veil for more chic options. They want glamour, style and sophistication. They don’t want girly frills, pastels or bows. Here are five new options to consider before you say, “I do.”

Classy look
Ricki Freeman for Teri Jon; dress ($450) and matching jacket ($430)
Go for a dress and matching jacket — it’s a fresh twist on the suit. The cropped jacket with bracelet sleeves and the raised waist on the dress make it totally contemporary, but the rich brocade and glitzy buttons really say luxurious.

Slim and elegant look
Badgley Mischka Platinum ($695)
Who really has time to diet, workout, go to work and plan a wedding? An a-line dress in firm brocade holds its shape and holds in yours. If you’re all curves, a deep v-neck, contoured waist and inverted pleat do everything a personal trainer would, but in seconds.

Beautiful, but affordable look
Isaac Mizrahi for Target ($50)
If you’re leaving for a quickie wedding in Vegas, you can’t beat this lightweight silk taffeta dress that looks like it stepped off a couture runway. The high-neck top, defined waist, and full skirt looks great on everyone. We love the spacious inseam pockets and it’s a great dance dress.

Sexy and glamour look
Reem Acra ($2,390)
Go ahead and splurge on gold with a low empire neckline. You’ll wear this dress again with black lacey tights and heels for New Year’s Eve parties. And you won’t have to hold your stomach in for photos.

Romantic look
Luisa Beccaria ($2,000)
Go ladylike in this lace dress, which has a modern shape and is as curve conscious as a swimsuit. This dove-color dress is great for summery garden affairs or just impressing the step kids and new relatives.

Fashion tips for 40-plus brides:

  • Skip flat white. For a low-watt sparkle, metallic brocades and shimmery trims to give mature skin a glow.
  • Choose fashionable empire necklines, crisp a-lines or full-skirted styles that flatter all body types.
  • Show off toned arms (fastest body spot to firm) in sleeveless dresses and still great legs in knee-grazing hemlines.
  • Save time by shopping for shoes on line at zappos.com. The strappy sandals and slingbacks we feature with these looks can be shipped overnight.
  • Jewelry works like makeup to add warmth or energy to your looks. All the pieces we show with our bridal options are by Lee Angel. Pearls add a creamy smooth look to sun-damaged skin, while sparkly stones liven up dull, stressed complexions.
