Maternity Wedding Gowns

Be a Radiant Bride With a Maternity Wedding Gown

Maternity Wedding Gown
Just as the name implies, maternity wedding gowns are worn by brides who are pregnant. Since a woman's wedding day is special, no matter what the circumstances might be, it goes without saying that even a bride-to-be who's expecting wants to look amazing on her big day. The wide variety of maternity wedding gowns available today are designed to make a bride feel comfortable as well as stylish for that special occasion of her life. Let's take a look at some of these gowns:

Maternity Wedding Gown
Sonata Gowns - A Sonata gown is a floor length dress usually with a halter neck and a sweetheart neckline. It has a loose drape and is attached with a sash, which can be removed as per the bride's wish.

Ella Gowns: Ella gowns are full cut, lightweight and easy to carry off. They are very comfortable for women in the advanced stages of pregnancy. These dresses are made of silk or satin and fall below the knee.

A-line/Princess Gowns: Princess maternity wedding gowns or A-line gowns are high waisted, making them perfect for women who want to hide an expanding waistline.

Empire waist Gowns - an Empire waist maternity wedding gown is the best option for pregnant brides. It has a defined neckline, which ends just below the bust and a loose skirt that flows over the waist and hips, making the wearer look slim and petite. Since the skirt is not fitted, any bulge in the stomach or extra weight gain due to pregnancy is hidden well by this type of gown.

It should also be noted that pregnant women generally put on weight on their bust too. Certain necklines should therefore be avoided by expectant brides. Scooped, square and Queen Anne neckline usually work for all women. However, tight necklines such as bateau, sabrina and jewel necklines will only make the bride look heavier. For those with broad shoulders, halter necks are a good option as are off shouldered dresses, portrait necklines and strapless wedding gowns. Hemlines are another factor that needs careful consideration. Long sweeping trains can be potentially dangerous to women who are carrying. It presents the risk of tripping and thus harming both the mother and the baby. Tea length maternity wedding gowns are best and even cocktail gowns can be worn by slim women. However, if you think that floor length gowns are a must, opt for those that stop at the ankle instead of having a long train.

Pregnant mothers have no dearth of options when it comes to choosing wedding gowns. Whether they want a trendy look or very traditional maternity wedding gown, they can now get it all.
